Ultrasonic fatigue testing of concrete

Cyclic compression fatigue properties of concrete are studied with the ultrasonic testing method cycling frequency 19 kHz and compared to servo-hydraulic tests performed at 60 Hz. Ultrasonic was found applicable for rapid generation very high cycle (VHCF) data concrete. Fatigue cracks can be initiated, however specimens do not rupture, since cyclic stresses decrease increase compliance in displacement controlled tests. Observation resonance frequency, analysis higher order harmonics vibration, computed tomography successful methods analyse damage. Calorimetric evaluations used calculate irreversible strain, which is about 1% elastic strain VHCF test.
